Samsung revives it’s A5 and A7 models in new Avatars

After Nokia, this time, it is Samsung that is in the picture with revival of one of it’s old models.  But the difference here is that Nokia resurrected one of it’s 10 years old model, but Samsung is bringing in back it’s recently aged models : the A5 and A7 with
advanced features and minor tweaks.

What is this tech Fuzz all about ?

Now, Samsung has today launched two of it’s old smartphones models in the Indian market : The A5 ad A7 at 28,990 ( for the A5 ) and 33,490 ( for the A7) models respectively. These two phones vary in some aspects from their older versions by minor scales.

What's new this time ?

Well, when compared to the previous versions of both these models, minor changes in build quality and tweaks in performance and hardware can be expected. So, talking about the changes in both these models separately, the differences aren’t huge yet noteworthy :

Samsung Galaxy A5

When you take a look back at the previous version of the A5, design and build quality wise, it was a normal phone from Samsung with
average camera performance. But what we get in the newer version is an an extra layer of protection for the body that includes IP68
certified – dust/water proof over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes.

Sounds cool ? That’s not all.The 2017 version of the A5 packs a 16Mp camera both on the front and back, when compared to the older 13 Mp back cam and the 5 MP front cams in the previous version.

This means , you can have double the fun with both the front and the back cams with this version of the phone.Even the screen resolution
had been advanced to a full HD one ( 1080 x 1920 pixels having 424 ppi pixel density) along with the battery upgrade to 3000 mah,
which was a lousy 2300mah in the older version.

And how can we forget the processor. No more slow speed snapdragons shipping in with the device this time . Now , you will be having in your hand , the power of a Exynos 7880 Octa chipset mated to a CPU of Octa-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A53. Increased clock speeds means better performance. Stands true ? do let us know your view in the comments.
And the price that you need to pay for this upgraded version : 28,990

Samsung Galaxy A7

Now talking about the elder one in the A series, the revived form has the pretty much same advancements that the A5 has got as mentioned above, except for the battery size ( 3600 mah and the screen size (5.7 inch). Rest all the new features remain the same,  such as :

IP68 certified – dust/water proof over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes
Exynos 7880 Octa
Octa-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A53
16 MP front and back cams

Price for this beauty : 33,490

The interesting part is that both these revived versions now come armed with a Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and an always on
display feature that can be customized.

How is it going to benefit you ?

Well, if you are a little too much careless about handling your devices and keep dropping them, then this is the best pick for you in the 25 to 35 thousand price range. Better cameras and processors when compared to it’s predecessors.

Drawbacks ?

Well, the price being on the higher end for a revived piece of technology, especially considering the mobile consumers in India, who specifically look out for good performance devices at lower prices, the USP of this device doesn’t give the price tag a center stage . The prices could have been a bit more lower.

Secondly, Samsung could have improved the Software and UI when they are releasing an upgraded version. Instead, they chose to stay on the same old, ugly looking software.

And the last drawback that is, the OS which is still stuck in with the previous version of Android , which is Android 6, when the whole of the world is Sailing on the mega cruise liner called Android N.
